C4 charges represent the cutting edge of demolition explosives. They're lightweight and efficient, useful for blowing apart vital structures in an enemy base. A pair of Engineers (either Soviet or Allied) that manage to get inside an enemy structure can set their explosives on its weak point to take it out for sure. Unfortunately, the C4 has a half-minute timer on it, and during that time it is prone to being disarmed by opposing Technicians and Engineers. While Technicians take a short amount of time and require precision interaction to disarm C4, it is said that Engineers can disarm all nearby explosives in a single motion. Thus, it is important that enemies are prevented from reaching any explosives that you may plant, lest they disable it.

Special volunteer Tanya Adams is well known for her effective use of C4 explosives, allowing her to quickly take down Soviet buildings suddenly and without warning. Unlike Engineers however, she can easily hold her own against most Soviet infantry forces, making the defense of the explosives much easier. These explosives are issued in limited amounts, and are only available to Tanya and Engineers.

Once all explosives have been planted, you may refill your supply at a friendly base (assuming you manage to get home safely). Only Technicians and Engineers may disarm C4. C4 is ineffective against vehicles, but can be affixed to the side of a vehicle or building, or even a person (as unlikely as that may be). In-game, there will be a visual countdown on the display, which will tell how long until detonation.
